Fujiwara no Edayoshi (藤原枝良)

FUJIWARA no Edayoshi (845 - June 24, 917) was a retainer of the Imperial Court during the first half of the Heian period. His court rank was Jushiijo (Junior Fourth Rank, Upper Grade) Sangi (councilor) Shuri no daibu (Master of the Office of Palace Repairs). He was from the Ceremonial House of the Fujiwara clan, and was the eighth son of Uhyoe no kami (Captain of the Right Division of Middle Palace Guards) FUJIWARA no Harutsu. His mother was the daughter of 紀御依. Seito taishogun (literally, "great general who subdues the eastern barbarians") FUJIWARA no Tadabumi and Okura no taifu (Senior Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Treasury) FUJIWARA no Tadanobu were his children.

In 883, Edayoshi was appointed to Shojo (Junior secretary) within Grand Empress Dowager's quarters. Thereafter, he successively held positions such as Nakatsukasa no Shoyu (Junior Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Central Affairs), Minbu taifu (Senior Assistant Minister of Popular Affairs), Taikotaigogu no suke (Assistant Secretary of the Grand Empress Dowager's office), Sashoben (third-ranking officer of the Left), and assumed the post of Sanuki no kuni no kami (Governor of the Sanuki Province) in 899. In 907, he became the Shuri no daibu (Master of the Office of Palace Repairs) after holding other posts such as Uchuben (Middle Controller of the Right) and Togu gon no suke (Provisional Assistant Master of the Crown Prince's Quarters). In 913, he was appointed to Sangi (councilor) at the age of 69. In 917, Edayoshi passed away after successively serving as Sagami no kuni no kami (Governor of the Sagami Province) and as Sanuki no kuni no kami for the second time.
